Jacobus Company LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of North Carolina, doing business as Superfly Web Designs ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information in connection with julieclarkson.com and our software products ("Software").
1. Scope — and which policy applies to you
This policy covers julieclarkson.com itself and our developer tools and plugins, which run locally on your machine.
Each hosted product publishes its own privacy policy, and that policy — not this one — governs that product. Degree Pathways, Investment Scenario Lab, and Retirement Scenario Lab each handle data differently: some offer paid passes through a third-party payment processor, and at least one offers an email list you can join. 2. julieclarkson.com
This site is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no login, no comment system, and no form that stores what you type. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or behavioural tracking on it.
Like every website, the hosting provider that serves these pages automatically processes standard technical request data — such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested — in order to deliver the page and protect against abuse. We do not use that data to identify you and we do not build profiles from it. If you email an address published on this site, we receive your email and whatever you put in it, and we keep it only as long as we need it to answer you.
3. Developer tools and plugins
Our developer tools and plugins are local-first: they run on your machine and process data within your project workspace. We do not operate servers that receive your project data, and in connection with those tools we do not collect, transmit, receive, or store:
- Project source code or repository contents
- Generated content or outputs
- Usage analytics, telemetry, or behavioural data from within the tool
- API keys, credentials, or authentication tokens
Project data is read from and written to your local filesystem within the project workspace. Generated outputs are stored in designated output directories within your project. No data leaves your machine through those tools themselves. Note that this describes the tools — it does not describe the hosted products in Section 1, and it does not describe third-party services you direct the tools to use.
4. Third-Party Services
The Software may interact with third-party services at your explicit direction. These interactions are initiated by you and governed by the respective third party's privacy policy:

We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.
5. AI Processing
When you use AI features through your IDE, your prompts and project context may be sent to AI model providers as determined by your IDE configuration. This data transmission is controlled by your IDE settings, not by the Software, and is subject to your IDE provider's privacy policy and data retention practices.
6. Credentials and API Keys
API keys required for certain features are stored locally in environment variable files or injected via secrets managers. They are never collected, transmitted to, or stored by us. You are responsible for managing them securely and ensuring they are not committed to version control.
7. Generated Content
Content generated by the Software may contain information derived from your project. This content is generated locally and remains under your control. You are solely responsible for reviewing generated content before publishing and ensuring it does not contain sensitive or confidential information.
8. Children's Privacy
This site and our developer tools are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Each hosted product states its own age requirement in its own terms; check the product you are using.
9. Data Security
Because the developer tools operate locally and we do not receive your project data, the security of that data depends on your local machine's security configuration, your IDE's security settings, your credential management practices, and your version control practices. For the hosted products, see each product's own policy.
10. Your Rights
We hold very little about you. In connection with this site and our developer tools, we do not maintain a customer database, so there is normally nothing to access, export, or delete — your project data resides on your machine under your control, and if you have published content using the tools you are responsible for removing it from wherever you published it.
Where we do hold something — for example an email you sent us, or an address you added to a mailing list run by one of the hosted products — you may ask us to access or delete it by writing to the contact address below, and we will respond within the time applicable law allows. Some hosted products let you do this yourself; every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Depending on where you live you may have additional statutory rights, and we will honour them.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory data-protection law where you reside.
